If it were just too dark I could have blended it with a lighter foundation and make it work, but since it gave me an allergic reaction there is nothing I can do with it. To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement. I took off the foundation when I was home with my usual cleanser and my face became bright red and my skin felt hot as if burnt by the sun. It became worse by the minute, but I was at lunch with a friend and I had nothing on me to take it off. When I first tried this on with a full face of make up, I wore it for 3 hours and then it started: an itch along my jawline that started to spread across my cheeks upwards. It wasn’t only too dark on my hand, on my snowy white face it was even darker, but it also gave me an allergic reaction.Īllergic reactions to cosmetics never act up instantly in my case. And that wasn’t only the first problem I had with this foundation. The texture is very thick and creamy and it feels very nice and smooth on the skin.īut as you can see in the picture: when trying to blend this with the skin on my hand it is too dark. There was no tester of the foundation at the time I bought it, but there was one of the concealer with the same number and when I watched it in the store it looked promising enough. I went with the lightest shade available in The Netherlands: 115 ivory. The only stickers are the name of the foundation on the cap and the color number on the bottle itself. Here, the bottle also comes with a pump (which is a definite plus) and I like how you can easily see the color in the bottle. The start looks very promising: the bottle is sleek and clean looking, made of glass and very sturdy. So when my drugstore had a sale on Maybelline products and hearing great reviews about their Fit Me foundation, I purchased it hoping this would be the first drugstore foundation that would work. My MAC foundation was slowly running out and since I now had gotten used to using foundation, I thought I’d try a drugstore foundation again, just to give it another shot. That still wasn’t a perfect match, but well blended I could make it work. I need a pink undertone in my foundation, but since the lightest shade (NW15) is even too dark for me in winter, I had to go with the yellow undertone, which in Face & Body is called C1. I ended up going to MAC and bought the Face & Body foundation. Mostly because the color was too dark and I didn’t want to spend a fortune buying drugstore foundations (which often don’t have testers) to find one that did have the right color. I’ve only been using foundation since September because I had never found a foundation that actually fit me. Foundation: the worst make up product on the planet.
